Michigan football is expected to secure a four-star offensive lineman, Leo Delaney, who recently toured the Wolverines’ facilities.
Regarding four-star offensive lineman Leo Delaney, Michigan football possesses several inherent advantages.
For starters, the Providence Day prospect hailing from Charlotte has two previous teammates on the Michigan football team, Jadyn Davis and Channing Goodwin. The Wolverines have been a constant presence at the school and have influenced Delaney.
Biff Poggi was the first to offer him, but he has developed a strong connection with Grant Newsome. Delaney, measured at 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds by 247 Sports and ranked No. 132 overall in the 2026 class per the 247 Sports composite rankings, returned to campus this past weekend for an unofficial visit.
It appears that Michigan football hit a home run. Just prior to his journey to Ann Arbor, Delaney got a crystal ball prediction to join Tennessee. The Vols are among the leading contenders, alongside Clemson. Delaney has arranged official visits for Michigan football, Clemson, and Tennessee this summer.
“Michigan is not just a contender.”
Penn State is part of the competition as well, but it seems like a three-team battle. Nonetheless, Delaney’s father informed Ethan McDowell of The Wolverine, “Michigan is beyond just a contender.” “It’s a unique combination of education and elite football that I believe is quite unmatched.”
Delaney additionally shared how “wonderful” the visit was. The atmosphere was positive enough that McDowell made a projection for the Wolverines in the On3 recruiting prediction machine. The RPM currently provides the Wolverines an 82-percent likelihood of securing the commitment.
A resolution isn’t anticipated shortly. It appears that Delaney will go on his visits before making a choice, but Michigan football is moving in a positive direction. Delaney appears to build a strong rapport with the coaching team, and the Wolverines find themselves in a solid position as they approach an important phase in this recruitment.
