Detroit Lions cornerback Amik Robertson has issued a strong message to critics following the team’s recent playoff loss to the Washington Commanders.
Despite suffering a broken arm during the game, Robertson emphasized that injuries are not an excuse for the defeat. He stated, “It wasn’t the reason that we lost and couldn’t get over that hump, but we’ll be back. We’ll be back healthy, and just know we’re keeping all the receipts.”
Robertson’s comments reflect the team’s awareness of external doubts and their commitment to using that skepticism as motivation for the future. He added, “It is okay when you fail and you see people doubting you. That’s how I came up. That was my fuel to my fire, doubt. So we’ll be back. It is all good, but we’re definitely keeping the receipts.”
This isn’t the first time Robertson has addressed critics. Earlier in the season, he responded to those labeling him as a ‘depth player’ by asserting his determination to prove them wrong.
The Lions, who entered the postseason as the NFC’s top seed, are channeling the criticism they’ve received into motivation for the upcoming season. Robertson’s resolve exemplifies the team’s collective mindset as they prepare to return stronger and more determined.
